How do I perform a keyword search?

  1. Select the type of search from the drop-down menu of Keyword search box, located at the top of any page.
  2. Enter your keyword:
    • Search for chemicals by name, synonym, CAS RN, MeSH® accession ID or MeSH tree number (if prefixed with “chemtreeno:”).
    • Search for diseases by name, synonym, OMIM accession ID, MeSH accession ID or MeSH tree number (if prefixed with “diseasetreeno:”).
    • Search for genes by symbol, name, synonym or NCBI Gene accession ID.
    • Search for GO terms by name, synonym or accession ID (e.g., “GO:0008219” or “8219”).
    • Search for organisms by scientific name, common name, synonym or NCBI Taxonomy accession ID.
    • Search for references by author (“lastname initials”), title, abstract, PubMed® ID or Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
    • Select the All option to search all these data categories at once.
  3. Click Search.

If your query did not match any items, try using a shorter keyword, a wildcard, or use an advanced
gene, chemical–gene interaction or reference query.
